Lizzy Musi’s “Bonnie” to Appear in Edelbrock Group Booth at PRI

Olive Branch, MS – The Edelbrock Group, in collaboration with Pat Musi Racing Engines, announces that the legendary ’69 Camaro, affectionately known as “Bonnie” and raced by Lizzy Musi, will be displayed in the Edelbrock Group booth (#725) at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show in Indianapolis December 12-14. This iconic vehicle will take center stage, offering fans and industry professionals an up-close look at the NPK-legal steel roof and quarter machine built by Robert Hayes Motorsports in Mooresville, North Carolina, powered by a 959c.i. Pat Musi nitrous-injected Pro-Mod engine.

Lizzy Musi was a standout competitor on the hit television show Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings (NPK) before losing a courageous battle with breast cancer earlier this year. She captivated audiences with her tenacity and skill to become the winningest woman in NPK history with seven Invitational wins — most while driving Bonnie. Musi inspired race fans worldwide as she continued to pilot Bonnie while feeling the effects of cancer treatments. Lizzy’s last race behind the wheel of her beloved Bonnie took her to the finals at Empire Dragway in May, just a month before she passed.

“We’re honored that Edelbrock offered to display Lizzy’s ‘Bonnie’ Camaro,” said Pat Musi. “Edelbrock supported Lizzy since the very beginning of her drag racing career, and my relationship with the company goes back even further. We do everything we can to keep Lizzy’s legacy going, and we appreciate Edelbrock helping us with that by placing her car in their PRI booth. We hope all of her fans get a chance to come by the Edelbrock booth to see the car.”

“We’re proud of our longstanding partnership with Pat Musi Racing Engines and are humbled to honor the legacy of his daughter Lizzy by displaying ‘Bonnie’ in our booth at PRI,” President/CEO of Edelbrock Group Chris Douglas said. “Bonnie is the car that solidified Lizzy as a star on the track and television. We thank Pat and Tommy Franklin for offering to display it at PRI for her fans within the industry.”

Lizzy’s racing legacy will live on through Bonnie after the Musi family transferred car ownership to longtime friend Tommy Franklin Motorsports. Driver Blake Denton now drives Bonnie in the PDRA Pro Street division, where he’s been as quick as mid-3.90s in the eighth mile. Though it’s undergone some mechanical modifications to fit Pro Street rules, its appearance remains the same as when Lizzy last raced the car in May.

“I grew up in an era where the mindset was that a race car is a tool, and Lizzy felt the same way,” Pat Musi said. “To keep this car behind closed doors in our shop or even on display in a museum wouldn’t be doing it justice. That car belongs on the track. It means a lot to my wife Liz and me to see ‘Bonnie’ still going up and down the track with Lizzy’s name on the window.”
